Low FFA Castor Oil

Low FFA castor oil is a type of castor oil that has a low free fatty acid (FFA) content. Free fatty acids are fatty acids that are not attached to a glycerol molecule. A high FFA content can indicate that the oil is old or has been improperly stored. Low FFA castor oil is lighter in color and has a longer shelf life than high FFA castor oil. It is also less likely to irritate the skin.

01

Increased Shelf Life

Regular castor oil can break down over time, releasing free fatty acids (FFA) which can make the oil go rancid. Low FFA castor oil has had these free fatty acids removed through a refining process, meaning it has a longer shelf life and stays fresher for longer.
02

Improved Viscosity

Regular castor oil can be thick and viscous, making it difficult to work with. Low FFA castor oil has a lower viscosity, making it thinner and easier to pour and apply.
03

Reduced Odor

Regular castor oil can have a strong, unpleasant odor. Low FFA castor oil has a milder odor, making it more pleasant to use.
04

Enhanced Performance

In industrial applications, low FFA castor oil can improve the performance of products such as coatings, lubricants, and biodiesel.
